To encourage community participation, from May 24 through June 14 the general public was invited to vote online for design elements that will be featured in the murals. Voters were asked to choose one of four fishing lures, with the lure receiving the most votes to be included in the large-scale downtown mural. Voters were also invited to choose their preferred design for the mural to be installed at Lake Odessa's Municipal Beach. A total of 295 votes were cast.
Among the contest participants, Cameron Cejmer of Woodland, Michigan, was chosen at random to receive a $25 gift card to Buddy's on the Beach. Congratulations, Cameron!
